He is well known for providing insightful, well-thought-out advice to Boards and Chief Executives – whether it applies to national and international executive searches or complex projects that build senior leadership teams.

Grant began his working life in the human resources and training and development arenas, before moving into management positions in the IT sector. From there he transitioned to management consulting working initially in a New Zealand-owned international search firm, where he was rapidly appointed as a Director. He then joined an Australasian firm working from Auckland, undertaking international executive searches in the professional services, IT and government sectors.

He subsequently went on to establish Ichor in 1999. Grant enjoys challenging himself continually to uncover innovative solutions to complex searches. In doing so, he emphasises the need for pace and the importance of delivering over and above client needs.

Qualifications and connections: Bachelor of Education from University of Canterbury; Diploma in Business Studies from Massey University; Member, Institute of Directors in New Zealand; Director, New Zealand Institute of Economic Research (NZIER).
